All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

T E X T B O O K S A R E N O T E N O U G H!
Catholics today must read the Bible! Parents can get a workbook and read the story of Salvation with their children. You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain! The Journey Begins! is a wonderful tool for teachers to use to learn about, teach their students about, and share with their school parents about the story of salvation history!
The first and second books in The Journey Begins! series are published by St. Mary’s Press. To purchase them, please visit the web links below.

The final workbook in the series is now in the publishing phase through Saint Mary’s Press. It will soon also be available on their website at http://www.smp.org
HERE’S WHAT TO DO…
Sit down by yourself, with your child, or with your class, and open your Bible to the book and chapter indicated on the worksheet. Just read the Bible and answer the questions! When you’ve got the chapter(s) read, discuss the answers you found and some thoughts about what you’ve read. It’s fun and easy to do! Share how what you read has happened or could happen in your life. How is God “speaking” to you through the Bible? Don’t worry about not knowing enough! It isn’t about “being right,” it’s about encountering God in His Word! For a more in-depth study, use a Bible commentary to help with some of the historical context. Otherwise, just read God’s Word and get to know Him there!
“I just wanted to let you know that I had the opportunity to teach the seventh grade this year The Journey Begins, An Introduction to Jesus the Christ According to Matthew and John. It was such a wonderful experience and the students learned so much and were able to relate to gospels they were hearing or had heard before. I continue to believe your books for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade are essential for students to make the bible a part of their life. I am so excited that this year all three grades will be doing your series. Thank you for making them available to us. Continue the good work of spreading the gospel! You are an inspiration to many!”
With gratitude, Elda
Know this first of all, that there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation, for no prophecy ever came through human will; but rather human beings moved by the holy Spirit spoke under the influence of God. —Peter 1:20-21
